BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE RISKS OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19). IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONTINUE PHYSICAL DISTANCING AND FOLLOW PUBLIC HEALTH ADVICE.
This blog is like the best selection in a box of chocolates. Short, sweet and gone in a second.
B&B conditions over the year are like a box of chocolates – a raging tempest one day and calm as a pond the next.
Today was a day of rips and big sets where the wave whisperers came into their own and were able to read the conditions and decide when and where to swim.
So what exactly is life like….
Above: Greg P says life is … having a go at 20 WWW doubles and living to tell the tale.
Above: Life is like … that hot coffee after an adrenaline charged swim out from Manly for Kara.
Above: Life is like … the Manly Ferry in a southerly swell for Jon.
Above: Life is like … a new pair of Keen sandals for Guy and Brian. For those who are as keen as mustard and know their feet, you will recognise who is who…
Above: Life is like … a nougat not a chocolate for John K.
Above: Life is like … the surf today for Richard – not exactly pretty, not exactly small.
Above: Life is like … a roller coaster for Greg – get to enjoy the downs because there so many ups at the B&B swim.
Above: Life is like … the joy of introducing the pup Stan to B&B for Georgina and Jenny.
Above: Di says … the WOW is her daily box of chocolates.
Above: Life is like … getting pleasure out of every moment of life says Kate.
Above: Life is like … a quick dash out of Manly and a safe return to the same beach for Lainey.
Above: Life is like … Manly and Shelly on a cool August morning with the promise of another swim adventure.
Temperature: 16 point something (give or take a few degrees here or there for colder and warmer patches).
Number of swimmers by 10.55am 39
Number of swimmers by 1.05pm 53
Number of swimmers by 2.02pm 58
Most common first name by 10.55am David (X3). My friend Adrian tells me he was disappointed to see only one Adrian on the Daily Chart of those who had swum by 2pm.
For me life is like … switching radio stations from sad statistics about Covid to U2’s Beautiful Day as I parked my old beaten chariot at Manly.
Keep those in mind who are doing it tough in these days.
Take care, stay safe – remember it ain’t over till it’s over.

Message from management:
Please remember to continue social distancing and be mindful of not congregating outside MSLC in large groups.
Government regulations still require us to keep 1.5m away from each other unless you live in same house,
We appreciate that you want to chat to your friends and socialise but we need your help to make sure we comply with these regulations before we are forced to introduce more onerous restrictions.
With that in mind we ask that you respect your fellow swimmers and members of the public in the following manner:
•Please start leaving bags and gear on the beach or step at below the ramp rather than outside MSLC
•Keep at least 1.5m apart before, during and after all swims.
•Arrive, complete your swim and leave.. If you are having coffee or socialising please do so away from the MSLC
•Consider swimming at different times to keep the number of people congregating at MSLC to a minimum.
Thanks for your cooperation
