70 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Another beautiful swim in paradise. You know what… I reckon we could be the largest daily ocean swim group in the world ! What do you reckon ?? Does anyone know of any daily group anywhere in the world that would be bigger ??
Lee Cooper found a large wobbegong at Shelly Beach and Nick the brick Dowson swam into a dead cuttlefish which he didn’t enjoy quite so much.
As we were sitting at Manly Wine enjoying our coffee a pod of dolphins cruised past surfing the small waves right in front of us, we chorused out the time to them so hopefully they will be on time tomorrow.
Madhi Deaton and Isobel Kirk swam both waves without flippers this morning which was a great effort, well done !! Nothing like leaving their training for the Dardanelles to the last minute… 😉
It was good to see Chris Cameron-Doe back in the water this morning after his surgery, winter badge here we come Chris 😉
~40 of us had a really great night at the Steyne Hotel last night enjoying our very generously sponsored dinner and drinks, thank you very much to Gerard Dore and the Steyne Hotel 🙂
Check out the two great on tour photos of James and Nicolee Goins at Spanaway lake, in Tacoma. It is the lake James swam in childhood, with otherwise not much claim to fame. James was horrified to swim in anything over his head in those days 😉 His last entry was in 1975. Big pond no more.

The water tasted a bit different just before i saw the Cuttlefish..Dry reaching while swimming is hard..!!
I reckon we might have the record !!

Maybe if you hadn’t tried to eat the cuttlefish…

Not naming names but I overheard a conversation this morning between 2 swimmers and they came up with alternative interpretations for the WWW in winter badges:
For people who WEAR wetsuits it would be WIW – “Wuss With Wetsuit” and for those incredibly brave ones who DON’T wear a wetsuit it would be “W*nker Without Wetsuit” ;-D

Agree – really enjoyed last night’s generous meal at the Steyne. They’ve done a great job with the renos there, very welcoming atmosphere, juicy steak, fresh salad and of course fabulous company. Seems like a good venue to take the family for a quick, easy, healthy and rather inexpensive dinner soon.

I truly miss the old steyne…. A quick head butt on the way through the front door….. Impromptu exhibition bare fist fighting in the courtyard…. subtle background noise to drown out any but the simplest thought…. followed by a gentle glassing on the way out…
What are the new owners thinking with all this great food and friendly atmosphere business?

Hmm Iain!! I’m getting a little worried about you. Maybe I shouldn’t have lent you that book. It sounds like you want a return of the wild west.

I remember ending up in the Steyne after a fancy dress party – dressed as a fairy complete with wings…didn’t go too well…
