05/07/2011 – Golden Dawn

July 5, 201117

64 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

A lovely swim this morning, the water temperature might have dropped but it was sooo clear, it really was picture perfect. Lots of fish around but no dusky whaler sightings, maybe they have gone searching for the warmer water…

You can tell it’s school holidays, ‘the originals’ are back in the water… Lovely to see you this morning ladies, good to know we will be seeing you everyday for the next two weeks… Anita Keelan, Cynthia Alley, Deb
Hanson, Maryanne Eades and Suzanne Turner 😉

6 people enjoyed an extra lap starting early at 6.20am; Gaetan Guilhon, Iain McGregor, Isobel kirk, Michael Christie, Nicholas (TB) Dowson and myself. Gosh it was lovely, pretty damn dark as we started, it was actually lighter under the water, but it was just gorgeous swimming across to Shelly watching the golden dawn arise. If you fancy an early start keep an eye on the comments section of the blog
throughout the day as people comment to indicate they are interested and would like company ;-). The small print being, only 7am swims qualify for winter badge ticks 🙂

Check out Ian Forster’s B&B on tour photo in China… Ian isn’t sure how he picked up this monster rash, but says it sure beats a jimble sting. He now thinks he shouldn’t have laughed so hard at Alison. Notice how the rash complements the hot pink of the B&B budgies. He says he’s not dead yet, thankfully I might add, so hopefully it is not fatal. Get well soon Ian and please leave the rash in China !

Bruce Baird is now a Grandad again, Elijah James, born last night at 11pm, congratulations Bruce and family, looking forward to Elijah cuddles at breakfast as he grows into his pink cap 🙂

Water Temperature 17.6 degrees.
Air Temperature 13 degrees.
Sunrise 7.01am.
Sunset 4.59pm.
High Tide: 11.14am.
Low Tide: 4.57pm.

Either day suits me being one of those do-what-you-feel-like retirees………….

As week one of no drinking approaches it second weekend, the alcohol free venue of a cinema on a Saturday night suits me very well BUT the offer of reenactments by the B&B is also a great option.
