I will confess to a little secret of mine. When I was growing up, all I wanted to be was a writer. I’m not sure what style I imagined whether it was romance, murder mystery or biographies I never got around to it. Until now! I’m not going to assume this will be a literary masterpiece but I know I can expect a few readers. So as I ask you to join me on my journey to realising my childhood dreams, through this blog, I thought it would be fun to ask some others what their childhood aspirations were.
Another day dawns
Our wonderful Management team. John Kelly always wanted to be a footballer – everyone from Liverpool wantes to be a footballer! Sean wanted to be a dolphin or a helicopter……..hmmmm, sounds like he had a wonderful imagination as a child. And Ian wanted to be a Gigolo!!!
Paula and her running pals.
Welcome to newbie Petrine
A happy group of 6.30 swimmers. Barb wanted to be an ocean swimmer! Well done on achieving that goal. Jackie wanted to be a Pilot and Roz wanted to be an IOC Committee member
Annie wanted to be a mermaid and Rusty longed to be a Space Explorer
Peter still doesn’t know, Lenore wanted to be an artist and Penny realised her dream and became a Marine Biologist.
Some of the 6am swimmers with Richard. Michael aspired to being a scientific journalist, Richard wanted to drive a fire truck and Bruce wanted to be a professional sailor.
Attracta always dreamed of being a mum, Jalna longed to be a nurse and Mahdi wanted to be rich! All have succeeded. Mahdi knows she is rich because she was born in Manly and spent her life in Manly. You cant ask for more wealth then that!
Nicki found it hard to chose between being an Air Hostess or a Policewoman on horseback
Candace yearned to travel the world, Robyn dreamed of being a Ballerina and Susan longed to be a Primary school teacher
The WOW girls had interesting aspirations. Georgina, the Artist wanted to be a midwife, Jane the farm girl wanted to be an ocean swimmer, Alison the Accountant wanted to be a teacher and Anne wanted to be a deck hand on the ferry!
My sister Diana and Brother in law, Peter have come down from Queensland to swim with us. Diana wanted to be a Princess – Sorry Di Princess Diana beat you to it. And Pete always wanted to be bold and beautiful!!
Melise dreamed of being an Air Hostess
And after sharing all our hopes and dreams, we went for a swim
Beautiful Lainey Loo wanted to be an actress!!!
And our last word should come from Tui…..
Who was desperate to become the New Lassie!
The child in me never saw myself enjoying the delights of ocean swimming – something I know most of us can’t live without now. So as you go through your day think about your inner child and what would make you happy!
Thank you to Lainey for all your support, underwater photos and technical advice. This first time blogger is VERY appreciative.

Staying safe – a timely reminder!
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. LISA – Nailed it!
I knew you were going to put together a great blog but this is ridiculously good for your first go.
I noticed that not every photo made the blog. 🙂
I am still a bit confused though, which airline has its hostess’s on horseback?
Lainey an actress? Who’d a thought. 🙂
Ian, no comment! 🙂

I know! Some of the photos I took with the camera were too blurry. I did however take some photos on my phone which I didn’t get a chance to download but happy to share if you want them.

Thank you everyone for your very encouraging and kind comments. Writing this blog made me realise what a creative, imaginative, and yes, sometimes delusional group we are – And I’m just so thrilled to be a member of it!!

Greta blog Lisa. I’ve just been recruited to join the Inner Westies as a once a month Sunday blogger, starting in a few weeks. Now you’ve really put the pressure on and raised the bar for future virgin bloggers.

You are a natural blogger and writer Lisa and pretty sharp with the camera too. I barely helped you and all your photos were perfect. Your kind and positive spirit has enriched the Bold and Beautiful community and we are so lucky to have you on the blogging team.
