02/05/2011 – Swell Times…

02/05/20115

Over 48 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Huge surf this morning. The swimmers safely negotiated the waves and the surfers on their way out past the point. 6 of us joined in from half way beach. The swim across to Shelly Beach was very swurly indeed. The brave half way contingent were accompanied by a few extras on the way back 🙂

Of special note was Neil Cowin and Madlen Altstaedt who have been inspired by little Sarah Abbott and they both swam in and out of the huge surf this morning. Fantastic effort, you guys are amazing !!

We have just heard from Sarah Williams, via Izzy that the B&B all survived the Byron Bay swim yesterday 🙂

We had a couple of B&B swimmers in the Port Macquarie Iron Man yesterday too. We can’t wait to hear all of your reports. I’m sure you all did fabulously 🙂

The beautiful early morning shot with the tree this morning is courtesy of James Goins.

Another great video from Gaetan Guilhon this morning too: http://vimeo.com/23127543

Bruce Paterson popped in for a coffee this morning, he is home 🙂 but has to have a few more tests.

Sarah Abbott might earn the club name of “Cork ” If a cork can get washed in –so will Sarah ! Go John & Sarah !

Well done everyone!! Its been quite substantial surf the last couple of days and I’m stoked that our group just hops in and goes through the break with no fuss!!
Its quite amazing really when you consider how diverse a group it is. However its always best to stick to your limits, don’t take risks and have respect for the sea. We all seem to do this quite well I think.
I have pruned the attendance list today, so some of you will find your name is not there if you haven’t ticked in the last three weeks. NO PROBLEM. Just write your name LEGIBLY in the spaces available and you will appear on the list the next day. I have to “prune” it regularly or it becomes totally unwieldy and huge. [So my apologies if I have accidently missed you.]

    Flu almost gone.
    Training tomorrow I hope.
    Missing my swims like crazy.
Almost as much as breakfast and coffee.
