83 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful
swimmers. I reckon there were many more than that who swam, it certainly looked like it was over 100 pink caps out there this morning.
Magnificent conditions, what a superb start to the long weekend.
The water was just sooooo clear, the seas were ‘calm as’ and there were a record number of flatheads around of all shapes and sizes.
14 swimmers made the most of it and enjoyed a second lap.
Izzy is back from her amazing travels, medal in tow. Izzy wanted to say a special thank you to Salli Alderson, our very own travel agent, who ensured she had the best trip ever 🙂
Peter Wood has promised to make Baklava for Monday morning’s après swim. Trust me it’s pretty awesome too, well worth swimming for !
We have had an amazing response to our steak and trivia night. The tables are now full !! To check out the table arrangements please click here. I am happy to take a waitlist so if things change I will of course accommodate everyone that I can.
The prizes are amazing too and they are still coming in, so please check them out here.
Thank you to everyone who has donated a prize and bought a ticket to the night, your support is greatly appreciated !
Tim’s fact of the day: “It can take a deep-sea clam up to 100 years to reach 8 millimetres in length. The clam is among the slowest growing, yet longest living species on the planet.”
Ragnill Stalvik and Heidi James are holidaying in Byron Bay with their families so they decided to try Byron’s B&B eqivalent whilst they are there. The water temperature is 20 degrees and the Byron swimmers were apparently amazed that people are doing a similar length swim down south in Manly in winter without wetsuits. It seems they liked our pink cossies too, but then who wouldn’t 😉
Ragnill and Heidi said there was quite a lot of swell for Byron and the water was murky as well, it was fun to do it – but nothing beats the B&B!! Aghhh isn’t that lovely 🙂
Great on tour photos
ladies, thank you.

Check out our floating cap below… thanks to Maureen Rath and Annette Willows for helping with this little project 😉

Gorgeous sunrise early this morning on Manly lake! We went for a bit of snorkeling with Michel, saw the 2 port jackson 2 meters away from each one another (maybe some more babies port jackson soon!). I’ll upload a video soon.
I was delighted to “finally” (as Iain would say!) see the garden gnome for the first time!

My weather app indicates that the sunrise isn’t until 6.32am tomorrow morning. So… that must mean the clocks go back an hour tonight !!!
Don’t forget to change your clocks, see you bright and early in the morning, at 7am day light savings time 🙂

Wonderful photos Gaetan. I think Mark might be interested in the leatherjacket in no. 38, which I think is a Black Reef LJ, Eubalichthys bucephalus. I usually see these in pairs. There are 2 other species which are a bit like it. Mark is on leave but Amanda Hay is checking his emails. Sorry, I don’t know the species of garden gnome but it’s obviously marine.
