Good news today, as per the photo above, the calf observed yesterday around Shelly has been reunited to its mother. Sheri is now in her 8th month and is still swimming every morning, amazing! I received quite a few SMS telling me how amazing yesterday’s photo was and how people who did not swim were so disappointed they missed the encounter with the calf :-))))
There were however a few (real!) whales off North Head yesterday, see photo below.
Lovely conditions today, it really is a lake and will remain like this for the rest of the week according to MSW. Water at the beach was 16.1°C, which is the coldest we have seen for 2011 I believe and there were plenty of screams heard as we entered the water! But once again, as soon as we reach the point it gets a warmer, so not a big deal at all!
Good idea to wear a wetsuit, not just for the cold, but few of us got stung by jimbles this morning, it hurts more than cold water 🙂
If you have not checked the blog in the evening yesterday, check out Jules’ post about their swim at Magnetic Island. They did really well, congrats guys once again and we’ll see you all tomorrow!

Correction, am pretty sure yesterday’s whale was a Sperm Whale which may have some links to a Hump, can Jane confirm?

Gaetan, congratulations on reuniting the calf with its Mum! Very clever indeed:-)) Very inspiring, Sheri:-)
Congrats to all the Magnetic Tour B&Bs – a great achievement all round.
Felt I was sinking in a pool this a.m. after a month of ocean swimming…..
