Over 73 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Big waves as we swam out and an undulating swim across to Shelly and back followed by ultra big waves to take us back to shore. For some swimmers it was not without a dump or two first… As for the visibility, uhmm what visibility !? Of course it was still a lovely swim.
It’s been the busiest Bold & Beautiful birthday week which has been lovely.
It’s Matthew Kings 10th birthday and Sarah Abbotts slightly more than 10th birthday today. Happy birthday to both Matthew and Sarah 🙂
Good luck to all the B&B swimmers who are taking part in the Byron Bay swim today 🙂
A fantastic photo of Ian Forster in his pink cap at his son’s wedding yesterday. A fantastic photo, I love this new level of B&B on tour shots :-). You can see this shot and others on the B&B on tour webpage.
A good photo of Michael Christie, Neil Cowin, Sarah Abbott and Jon Abbott sussing out the conditions pre swim and a beautifully happy breakfast photo 🙂
Two fantastic photos that perfectly capture the conditions today courtesy of Tim Ettle: one of us all entering the water and another of a guy catching a wave about 20 seconds after we all safely got out to the point ! 🙂
We are now world famous….. The swedish film crew that were out here doing a cooking show with Anna Alvsdotter and Petra Orrenius put their show to air on Thursday evening. For those of you that were swimming with us the day they filmed the tv host swimming with us you will recall it was a magnificant morning. I have been advised that the show was a huge success and the footage was spectacular. We wouldn’t understand a word of it as it was all in Swedish, but I can’t wait to see the footage with Anna translating it for us 🙂
Water Temperature 22.2 degrees.
Sunrise 6.29am.
Sunset 5.15pm.
High Tide: 6.54am.
Low Tide: 12.53pm.

Cool photos! Ian what’s with the suit? What’s wrong with wearing the pink speedos? 🙂
Massive waves all the way to Shelly actually today, quite surprising and very unusual. I managed to catch a wave all the way from the Bower to Shelly 🙂
Also Wilf was telling me that Bruce Patterson is in Manly hospital for some kidney related issue. He was gonna go and see him today to find out more and will give us an update tomorrow.

Thx Jules, Mike & all for such a lovely start to my “a little over ten” birthday celebrations – loved the “Happy Birthday” singing at Shelly and the pink flower Izzy gave me….. Even managed to somehow avoid getting dumped on return and can now relax in the sunshine and enjoy the waves from the safety of our balcony.
Thx also to all for making our visits to Manly from Hong Kong so wonderful – you’re a great, friendly group.
“Little Sarah Abbott” (the first in, last out one for those who don’t know me :-))

Well done today Sarah, hope you had a great day.
The sea should be about the same tomorrow by the lools of it. About 2.5 metre swell with about 11 second intervals and coming from the ESE.
It was fun today so should be good again tomorrow.
