Not a lot of swimmers venturing down to Manly this morning, but for those who did, fun conditions with a nice north east swell pushing into the bay!
This was the crew at 7am (though some had already ventured in or around to half way).
Some manly men! Sterling threatened not to swim because of the rain… until it was pointed out that he was already wet standing in the rain. It was actually quite challenging swimming around the point with a big rip. With the beach closed, there were some surfers picking off some nice waves.
The water was 18.9 degrees but felt a fair bit cooler than that, particularly in some patches through the middle. These photos never seem to quite capture the size of the swell…
John Kelly was in good form… though clearly rattled by the lack of a blog yesterday!
I think I hit my 1000kms swum tomorrow. It has been a great 5 years swimming with the Bold and Beautiful swimming gang! Here are two of my favourite shots from the last 5 years. Firstly the A-team gang who have become such dear friends…
And my all time favourite… (though Scotty has now beaten me the last two swims…)
