Ok, ok… I know 500km seems like nothing to you 1000km people… but gosh I thoroughly enjoyed hitting the BIG 500kms this morning. It was a gorgeous morning to get in the drink!

At the table of knowledge no one was actually able to work out how many regular swims take you to 500km. It was mathematically just too difficult to work out.
Great to see Bruce back down for the swim. He is fresh off starring in his hit Broadway musical – a man and his cane. He has splashed out on a new wetsuit to bring himself back into contention.

So Sterling tried to fire up Spaniardo and Irishman Alex to beat me on my 500km… but I was having none of that. You can’t lose on the big occasions. Spaniardo’s single finger here must mean how many times he has won in the last month 😉

Of course it is not a race… but I do love hearing about the races within the race. Jeff v Pete Anthony, Sterling v JP, Bruce v Dr Becky, Dreamboat v Mercedes Steve, Megan v Naomi… Woody v 65+ women…
Here is JP claiming his 4th place after beating Sterling 😉

A couple of thank you’s from me… to Tony Elmore who first brought me down to the swim when I moved to Manly almost 4 years ago, to the A-teamers who have become wonderful friends and of course to my wonderful wife who lets me go down to the swim while she looks after the kids! What a woman!

Finally, the wonderful Elizabeth wanted me to remind you all that this Saturday there will be a cake stall to raise awareness and support for the walk from Shelly Beach at 10am to support pancreatic cancer research. Dress up in purple and join in the fun.

Thanks again Tim for yet another Thursday blog. The fact that you are still blogging after all this time and that you use the Pacific Challenge with its badges, Cambridge bumps and landmark goals (500kms) attests to the multiple benefits of the B&B.
