The water is warming up and so were the conditions today. 17.9 degrees and just under 30 swimmers braving the big waves! In fact only 5 of us went out through the breakers at 7am (and only 4 returned)… I love that feeling of a big surging wave coming beneath you and then watching it form up and break on the rocks or across the beach. Makes you feel alive ah?

It is always fun on a morning like this telling tales on the return. Drinksy was still recovering from swimming through a patch of blue bottles yesterday, though being the brave man he is, was back in the sea this morning.

Here is a shot of Dave “I’d rather die than go out at half way” for the ladies of the B&B.

And one for the ladies with blurry vision.

I think all were eventually accounted for back at Manly Surf Life Saving Club. Ted gives the rough and tumble the big thumbs up!

Have a great day and if you get a chance ask Chris to tell his joke about the bloke who returns from church with a black eye… unfortunately it wont be making my sermon this Sunday…

magnificent blog containing very magnificent swimmers. I am glad Andrew is ok after yesterday. The past few days just go to show how inclusive BB is (luckily for me) as I strived for more than a year when I started to conquer the swim from Halfway with fear and trepidation and eventually got comfortable doing it. And now even go through the waves. I am very fond of halfway and for my part, I would rather die than miss being in BB even going halfway!

I saw this on mythbusters recently … this could be NO wetsuit vs wetsuit wearers! 😉

Defo much warmer! wow!! So i calculate that the “freezing your head off part of winter swims” only actually lasts about 4 weeks the rest of the time it’s just a bit cold… interesting..
Watching Drinky come through that surf this morning was magic! good to see all the blood as well on various people who came in at HALF WAY!!!

All are free to enter our realms – fins, feet , flippers, feathers, fur, tentacles, tails and scales. Enter with respect for we are infinitely more powerful than you will ever be. We see your puny pink heads and most pay us honour. Heed not your hubris for mercy is not our way.

Really dissapointed my gag’s not going to make your sermon on Sunday Bishop. Its very relevant & I’m sure you left me at coffee this morning with the impression you were going to open your sermon with my gag……not to mention the ” church of the holy dollar ” !!!

Haha.. Thanks Lesbubbles. Yes, excuse of the day came from Sterling after he got caught walking back from Halfway:
‘Yeah, bit rough out there. But also because I have an early work meeting today.’
Great blog Bishop!

Sterling came in at halfway at the 6:30am swim?
Hmmmm. The A-team will have to meet to discuss this.

You are a true inspiration Elizabeth and seeing you conquering your fears without a wetsuit or fins is awesome!
