Welcome newbies!

17/11/20250

Today was a beautiful and much welcomed surprise after a brief nor Easter on the weekend. There was a high tide making entry and exit at the ramp just a bit tricky. But the bay was mostly calm , a few bounces coming into Shelly, with clear conditions to the bottom of the sea, and quite a bit of wildlife to see.
Some seaweed was building up on the shore , which with a high tide means the exposed rocks and pylon bases are easy to trip over, be careful everyone. Carolyn today did trip and gained some road rash in her lower leg.
Three newbies that I met- Tom photographed here at the welcome desk with pauline, anne and Emma. Then I happened to check in on a young girl swimming near me close to Shelly, lovely jess from Canada- first ever ocean swim!  Ticking big boxes there , seen here with her English friend ( I think Ellie? ) and Jenny and Ian who swam with me.
Third newbie is jack who’s visiting Oz and came to the swim with Nat Schaffer .
The return leg to manly I saw a beautiful wobbegong amongst the seaweed, an eagle ray , plus plenty of fish. I must say, the temperature read was 19.4 but diving down to take photos it dropped two degrees I’m sure. Some very cold patches out there today.
Leaving the beach I walked past two swimmers finishing off their morning in the best way- chinwagging while sitting on the wall enjoying the views.
We live in a pretty place me thinks. Happy Monday everyone 🥰.
