Wednesday 26 June 2019 Set a goal. Make a plan. Achieve your goal

26/06/20195

I got in an extra swim today because work permitted. I have set myself a goal of getting a www and winter badge. I am on my way to it. I am inspired by the weekend effort of Pierre Lord who completed a swim – the English Channel

The is a huge goal but it involved a huge amount of planning, training and preparation, as well as support of his family and friends. Nonetheless, it is a fabulous achievement and my whole family and I were watching his swim via the tracker of the board and were so pleased he did it! Not only was it his first crossing by swimming of the English Channel, he was the first solo crosser! Details:

Pierre Lord (Australia /France)

Date: 22/06/19 Started: 02h22am

Completed in 12h 45 mins

Boat: Louise Jane

Support: Brendan Maher

(temperature around 13.8-14 something)

First successful solo crossing of 2019

I wish him and all the different people pursuing their own goals well

The water remains warm

A newbie with some not-newbies

always keen to include a shower scene

Already completed their swim, these early swimmers report that it is great in the water

Those badges though

Here’s Lucy (with Rob)

I am trying to get photos of swimmers and the waves. It is hard – because my photos often look flat but also because I am scared of waves. Not much height today thankfully

Fantastic blog Elizabeth…those shots of swimmers heading out into the waves and sunrise are just gorgeous,
Recently read Eggshell Skull myself, interested in your opinion on it at some stage.
Any chance the sidebar of comment history can be restored by technical support peeps?

Great blog Elizabeth!! Love the photos and commentary!! 🙂 I hear you re getting a good photo of waves! Even when the waves are big I still can’t get a good photo – they always come out looking flat! Thanks so much for covering today!

Great blog, Elizabeth. You captured that shore dump well. Much of it is now in my shower.
