Swimming is a great workout because you need to move your whole body against the resistance of the water. Swimming is a good all-round activity because it:
- Keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body
- Builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness
- Helps maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs
- Tones muscles and builds strength
- Provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of your muscles are used during swimming
Midge has clocked up 1281.5 so far on the pacific Challenge which means she has nearly swam the equivalent of from Manly to Gladstone

The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 11th November at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Cafe and will be our last for the year. Our special guest speakers this month will be two of our most knowledgeable swimmers, Dr Rainer Noack and Professor Nick Dawkins, who will provide a follow up presentation to their previous dissertation on swimming etiquette, titled:
“How to get ahead in the B&B”.

Are there any electricians out there who can advise me on how to adapt an American appliance (110 volts) to 240 volts input? I suspect I need a converter or transformer, but they seem to be rather expensive.
