Over 200 lucky Bold and Beautiful swimmers on the 3rd day of 2013. If you missed it today we feel sorry for you because the sky was beautiful, the water was silky and smooth and the company superb! A few fish and not a stinger in sight!

Keep those New Year Resolutions going and try and do an hour of exercise a day. Do a B&B swim and you’ve pretty much done it by 7.45am! And of course we all know there are so many other reasons to do a B&B swim…Happy New Year everyone!
The sunrise was amazing today and the lucky Bolderdashers got such a magnificent light show to swim with. Michael C and Robyn, walking out in the sunrise…

Here are Adam and Sabine heading off for an early 6.30am swim…Sabine showing off her new swim shoes.

The cloud formations in the sky are beautiful as we step out at 7am too!

There are just a few gentle waves to make the swim a bit more exciting!

How lucky are we!

There were loads of fish swimming around the rocks before we get to The Point. I spotted groupers, luderick and a crimson wrasse!

I get left behind again chasing fish but swim to Fairy Bower and discover a few more fish including these stripey mados.

We all know there is something special about Shelly Beach. The sun rose above it beautifully this morning as a lot of the Northern Beaches was still in thick cloud. This morning there was a magical mist enveloping it as you swam towards it…(It was sand dust from the tractor cleaning it!)

Introducing lovely Jane Stevenson, our Marine Expert. Ask her about any fish names you aren’t sure about. She’s with John 007 Bond, Robert and Bob P , all happy in their retirement starting the day off with a B&B swim!

And our leader Jules as she tells ‘Doublers’ to wait at The Point, before we set off! We’ll miss you Jules!

These happy ladies share a few laughs before they set off. Someone said to me today
‘A swim with the B&B really is the best anti-depressant!’

I opt to run back and get more photos. You can see that magical mist better now…

Another swim in paradise completed…
A farewell swim for Rob who is also leaving us to go to Perth.

Here’s a quote from Toni, (in the middle), swimming with us just 6 weeks . “Doing the B&B swim is like a big warm hug every morning!”

Wishing you all a wonderful week and sending you a big, warm hug!
Mary Stollery sent in this photo of her swimming”Wish you were here. A glorious swim in Lake Jindabyne! And no

blueys, jimbles or great whites :-)”
A few cartoons to finish with…

13 Bolderdash. Around 8 swimmers enjoyed an early lap into Shelly. 19 swimmers continued on for a double.Water Temperature 20.8Air Temperature 21.0Sunrise 5.49amSunset 8.10pmHigh Tide: 11.49amLow Tide: 18.20pmTo read Michael’s tips on how to stay safe in the surf please click here

AWESOME blog Elaine! love the pictures of the fish and the beautiful glow of the morning sunrise. even more impressed by your identification of the fish!!! I knew today’s conditions would be superb and sad I missed it, but this head cold has reaching for the kleenex. Maybe tomorrow I will see you all!

Great fish pics Elaine, and thankyou for Blogtarting me! We certainly swam in the right place this morning – on my walk home there were thousands of giant Bluebottles washed up on Manly Cove and Fairlight Beaches.

Today was my first swim with the Bold & the Beautiful – have been planning to join for years and finally made it this year’s resolution. It was amazing. Put me in a great mood for the rest of the day and I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow. Thank you so much to Alexis who swam along side me for my first time. His kindness was much appreciated. Fi

Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement about my blog. I do love capturing the atmosphere of this amazing morning ‘drama’ but do worry I’ll forget my camera, computer won’t work etc and won’t be able to get a good blog out there by late morning! It was a superb morning though.
Thanks for another fantastic video Mauricio.
Glad you enjoyed your first swim Fiona. Hope your colds get better Aly and Rainer but still think they would benefit from a good dose of salt water!
See you all tomorrow!

Not the same Dee Why shark
Still, those Wobblies can be scary, haha

Today was my first hitout with the B&B. Thanks Nick (I think) for the suggestion of starting out with only swimming the return Shelly-Manly half. Gave me the opportunity to see the B&B in action while I was walking to Shelly. Such an impressive sight. Loved the swim & smiled a lot today. See you on the weekend:) Clare
