Tuesday 3rd January 2017 – Yep its 2017

January 3, 20171

A kinda rainy glaze met us this morning but knowing that meant warmer water put a skip in our step on the way to the beach.

With a gentle .5 meter south easterly swell pushing quietly round the point and a forecast of smaller swell for the next few days and not a Jimble to be seen, if ever you were thinking a double , triple or quad, this week is the time to get on that train.

We should see the north easterly push up by Thursday but even then it will be weak.

Its was 5 to 7 on a Tuesday as the regular crowd shuffled in.

The shuffle to the point was a tad murky but that meant the sharks couldnt see us either so there was a general malaise about the group.

Some went early and wondered if the group was even coming.

Today according to management we had 237 swimmers. Though on approach to Shelley it was looking a little lighter.

You can always count on a demure photobomb from Jim and Rainer.

After a relaxed , no chop return we hit the shallows and headed back to work.

Have a great week everyone and spare a thought for Gayle Mcknight who is in recovery with bruises after a class of commando rolls from a great height.

Time: 12.30pm

Location: Southern Stage Manly Beachfront (opp Royal Far West)

Join us in the celebrations of launching this exciting initiative into the community of Manly at the 23rd Ocean Care Day Festival.

Boomerang Bags is a bag share initiative driven by our community to reduce single use plastic pollution in our community.

From next week, look out for the bright red boomerang bag boxes located in local businesses throughout Manly’s shopping precinct.

The boxes will be stocked with FREE reusable fabric shopping bags for customers to borrow when they forget to bring their own.

Simple borrow a bag when you need it most and return to a red BB box along with any extras you have at home.

The availability of free reusable bags reduces the amount of plastic materials entering our landfills and waterways and encourages a mentality of re-use in our community.
