Yep , you guessed it was cold but only out of the water. A balmy warm swim was the best start to the day once you get over the whole undressing process.
The morning started with a very gentle sunrise.

And today was met with very few in the water.

The hardy

And the culprit was….

Casting the temperature size

The three amigo’s

And the three crazy amigo’s with no wetsuits

And a magical sunrise

And lots of underwater traffic

Patrick and his big feet

High speed suits

everywhere

And massive schools of fish

A bit brisk on the other side

Some chose to cuddle up to stay warm

The regulars

And a dark side start

But then it warmed up

swimmers here

swimmers there

everywhere
A close up on the Green

And some high speed overhead traffic

whistling by

Home at last

Just in time for the sun

Reflecting on Pink

And a few more go past
and again

and again

and some very tame Bream

And then this in the Daily for those that missed it

A much more civilised breakfast with Steve and Shane

and the gang

And now you can feel better as B&B Antarctica gets underway. Feel warm people.

All the best for the week
Brian

Brilliant blog I just love so many of your photos
those beloved green plants – the limboing ladies at the point that tell me the swim is swum, the pics with the pink reflection etc etc
that arctic plunge makes me feel guilty about not making this am. The chill last night and the weatherman on the news put me off but excuses no more I will be there tmrw
thanks for a great blog

Jules, any chance of popping over with Sir M at the same time? It’s sure to be warm and sunny if you come (not!). After our long break, Sir M might be the only person I could keep up with:-))

Hi B&Bs – I’m in the ice hole in Durmont D’Urville at 66.40E 140.00S at the French Antarctic station. I’m from Tassie but whenever I visit Sydney I swim with the B&B. I took my pink
cap when went ‘down south’ for work this year. My brother, Matthew Hawkins, is a regular B&B swimmer. He feels the cold unlike his sister (me)!! Cathy Hawkins
