Today started much like other spectacular Sydney morning, with the sun burning its way across the water, but something definitely felt a bit different. There was a lightness about the day, a change I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
The Pines seemed taller and the air clearer and the sun hotter.
There was a light mist on the water, suspended with no breeze to blow it away.
Even Patrick looked lighter despite his foray into long distance paddling, (www.canoeclassic.asn.au) raising money for the Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation. If you would like to follow him follow this link, he can keep you up to date.. http://www.canoeclassic.asn.
And if you are thinking the welcome board is lighter, I think you are right though may have something to do with management away on holidays.
Now this story may seem like I’m making light of a bad situation. This morning Jenny’s friend, Emma was minding her own business walking up the up ramp in the car park when the boom gate took her out of play. Beware people strange things are happening.
Otherwise the highish tide which was on the upswing for a 10:30 peak helped all those in training kick off a bit earlier than usual.
And then from the point I spotted the culprit. A Hunters moon above the middle pinetree, which some would suggest alters the gravitational forces and would clearly explain the lightness today.
And the explanation in a more graphical format
Kind wild suspension of particles in the water too
But strangely very few fish
Quite a demure and light affair at Shelley this morning.
Some were lucky to catch their flippers that seemed unusually light.
And then we found Ian, relaxing back on shore.
And Gail overcome with gratitude at having a birthday coffee waiting for her on her return.
But intercepted with another hug from a Patrick.
And even the disabled right wing was lighter today and getting a workout. Wont be long before that wings back in the water.
Have a great week everyone and keep smiling.
Brian
With management away, I am left with no supplemental updates or marketing anecdotes, so consider this an early mark.

Great blog mate, very poetic, and thanks for the publicity, only 11 days before the big paddle, 111km, 12-14 hours, for a very good cause, the full moon will have disappeared, but the stars will be bright!

Thanks for standing in at short notice this morning, Dorsett. Shaun’s tenuous position is looking more shaky than usual!
