Thursday November 29 Too much news for so few pages

It’s days like these when there is so much news we need more pages for the blog. What’s the big news? I can hear you asking. We first had at about 6.30pm last night a swimmer (I don’t think he was one of ours) about 20 metres off shore at South Steyne was bitten on the foot by presumably a shark. The male suffered lacerations and was transported to hospital. So understandably the beach was closed.

But our bravest swimmers still took the plunge…

And  you’d think that was enough excitement and drama for one morning. But then we find out that there are rouge waves breaking over the path from Manly to Shelly. So of course we have it barricaded and guarded to ensure we are safe.

B&B Fundraising Christmas Party

Please book early for the B & B Christmas Party, which will be held on Tuesday 11^th December at 6.30 pm in the Moonshine Bar (2^nd Floor) at the Steyne Hotel. All swimmers and partners/friends are welcome (no under 18s unfortunately). The theme is simply “Christmas”, so come dressed in your finest Christmas paraphernalia. The music this year will again be provided by the band, “Gluteus Maximus”, who play two types of music, Rock and Roll! On the night, Royal Far West will be running a monster raffle and auction. Last year, this raised over $4000 for their important programs for disadvantaged kids. There will be fantastic items up for grabs, so be prepared to bid hard.
