One way of looking at our Bold & Beautiful Swim is a great collection of stories, as you can see from some of the genuine characters below.
It began with a great story about Julie and her friends swimming to Shelly and back, and they started a truly global community. They were followed by the story of two mates from Northbridge called Ian and John, who took it upon themselves to run the group so caringly and generously. And then there’s the great yarns you can hear from the WOWs, the benches & Bluewater.
We know there is something special about stories about hearing them, sharing them and watching them on our favourite programs. Experts say we are hardwired to receive messages and lessons by way of story, literally from the cradle to the grave. Every great story is a heroes journey. On one level It’s the hero in the story meeting challenges and overcoming them either humorously or more seriously.
On another level every story is our story, as we meet challenges and find surprising resources, and even more surprisingly wonderful people, to help us overcome them. One of our swimmers Karen Sander has started a Storytelling event every month starting March at the Steyne. The details are here (Story Room).
I hope you’re enjoying your story, And we know from storytelling it’s always happy in the end, and if it’s not happy, it’s not the end.
May you have a happy ending.

Swim was nice in the yellow warm water. Has the sea hit it’s max of people peeing in it?
