I came across a fascinating study recently. It found that if you can harness the ‘wisdom of your crowd’ you make better decisions than those made by the the smartest member, or even the experts. Now there are advanced ways of ‘sweeping in’ the wisdom and ‘making sense’ of what is collected. And the more diverse the crowd the better the quality of the decisions. So my first thought is ‘does this pass the B&B test?
Are we a crowd? Yes. Are we diverse. Ah, definitely yes. And do we make wise decisions? Well, it seems to me any crowd that is based on being in nature, inclusive, caring and great fun has found a way of making smart decisions. Even better than our smartest member (who ever that is?). We make smart decisions like celebrating birthdays as we did this morning for Georgina:
Decisions like entering the water together, waiting at the Point and at Shelly
And decisions like welcoming every new swimmer and explaining how the crowd works.
Like this morning we welcomed Jamie and Danielle Donaldson who were two of our four newbies.
I love being part of this crowd.

Wise conditions! Nice working of the theme.
I try for wisdom but usually fall on the smart-arse side of the line…it’s quite a fine one
