This morning as we headed down to Manly beach the sunrise was spectacular and we were full of hope that the bluey attack of yesterday would be behind us and it would be perfect conditions for our swim. But alas there were still reports of blueys.
Murray and his team from Babewatch have been in the headlines a bit over the last couple of weeks for their great work highlighting mental health in young people.
His group is growing and this morning Sam (far right) pulled on his Babewatch branded swimmers for his first Manly – Shelly with the group.
Ian was the centre of attention after his attack yesterday. All the girls wanted to see the damage.
Lainey was collecting rubbish and bluebottles. As note please remove any bandaids before you swim, they fall off and litter our beautiful Cabbage Tree Bay.

John reported in – go north he advised and he seemed right with no reports of bluebottle sightings among those who swam north.
There was plenty of fun in the surf, with some nice little waves to dodge.
Jacqui seemed to be challenging the blueys in one of her great selection of swimmers and rashies.

More action from the waves this morning
Till next time – just keep swimming

Monthly Dinner – 13th February 2018 – Guest Speakers
The first B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 13th February at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speakers on the night will be Dr Ezequiel “Ziggy” Marzinelli and Dr Adriana Verges from the Sydney Institute of Marine Science(SIMS). SIMS, in partnership with Dorset Sutton and Jenny Lim Sutton and the Manly community, propose to undertake Operation Crayweed Manly, a project to restore lost underwater forests in Manly, in particular a type of seaweed called Crayweed, which provides critical habitat for crayfish (Eastern Rock Lobster) and abalone. Ideally the restoration would take place in Cabbage Tree Bay, as an iconic and beloved place under the watchful gaze of a community of custodians who care and love this exceptional marine environment. However this will depend on gaining community support and approval from NSW Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries) due to Cabbage Tree Bay’s status as an Aquatic Reserve. The project team are keen to talk with the B&B community, as people who love and use Cabbage Tree Bay, to hear your thoughts and seek your support for this project.
The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.

Lovely Dee, and it was a perfect morning for a Bolderdash – not a bluey in sight. Cheryl White dived to the ocean floor way out deep and retrieved a plastic fork. Awesome eyesight and lung capacity that chick.

I was looking to return tomorrow to B&B after a bit of a hiatus. Does anyone have predictions for the bluie forecast for Friday? I was hoping to entice some friends down to Shelly for some snorkeling around 9 or 10 am.
I’ll definitely be down, (I have a general neglect for self-preservation), but would it be prudent to abandon the snorkeling with my friends?

Hard to say Paul. It has been blowing strongly from the NE again. I am hoping it will be okay…you could always snorkel around Fairlight if worst came to worst.
Dee thanks for a lovely blog!

Shelley, thanks so much for your ever sagacious council.
Definitely not too soon. I would even venture a couple of hours sooner may have been beneficial. 🙂
