Thursday 4 July 2019: We’re going to make a big star out of you

04/07/20191

Apologies for the short blog today – issues with the blog camera which should be rectified by tomorrow.

The surf was a little high today as we prepare to bunker down for a bit more rain so many chose to go from half way. No sign of our friend from Tuesday and although numbers are down slightly most are keen to get back into the water in pursuit of their winter badge, albeit sticking together in a tight bunch.

As if there hadn’t been enough media coverage around B&B this week, all the talk today was about the talent casters who were searching for members to be in an upcoming advert for a TV commercial.  Several obliged and we look forward to seeing our friends on screens again soon – we do have quite some talent in our group with the likes of Roz, Elaine, Izzy and McNaughty to name a few gracing our screens in the past.

Below Jenny, Bin and Sean were amongst the group interviewed – hopefully they’ll get a call back soon.

Water temp has crept back up in the 18 degree range and clarity is pretty good at the moment, a perfect reason to get back in the water tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone

Yes, the water was crystal clear. It is rare to see the bottom all the way to Shelly especially on an overcast day.
We saw a bat ray about 1m wide and I saw a fiddler ray and the usual carpet of yellowtail between the boatshed and Manly Point.
When rounding the point to come in after the double, a very heavy rain shower made the view very picturesque and somewhat surreal. Spray and splash from the rain gave it a magical appearance. Brian Lyle and I stopped there to enjoy it.
