After a spectacular red dawn it was quiet this morning and bumpier than the past few days. The board said 21.0 degrees, but the ocean looked cooler. And yet as the temperature falls the warmth in the group remains. Swimmers come down and talk sometimes to the usual suspects and sometimes to strangers. Just another morning in paradise. I’m talking about talking at the next B&B dinner. About how to influence colleagues, partners and kids. Over the past few years a whole body of research has cast new light on what master communicators do well. And we know at B&B we have more than a handful of those. We’ll look at how optimism and authenticity work in communicating, how to listen and understand each other better. When I asked the B&B Facebook page the number one issue in communicating listening was the top answer. So let’s look at what listening is and how do do more of it. It’s a masters class because I know the group already know how important conversation is. So we’ll just look at the latest from positive psychology in the area. If you have any particular areas you’d like covered or questions answered leave a comment below.
As usual there was lots of high quality conversation today…even between newbie Yolanda and her friend Angela…
I’ll see you in the water…

Shitbox Rally
One of our long time swimmers, Tim Slessor is heading off on Shitbox Rally on Monday. The rally raises funds for the Cancer Council of NSW. During the event 250 cars worth less than $1000 travel from Perth to Uluru and then on to Sydney, mainly off road. There are lots of break downs and retirements and of course lots of fun along the way. Tim is part of the support team working on the cars to get them across the line each night but he and his co driver, Alex, still need to raise funds. If you would like to support Tim and Alex please follow the link below to donate. Thank you all very much.
