Thursday 2 August 2018: More birthday shenanigans

August 2, 20189

It seems to me that all the kool kids have birthdays in August and the party continued on today, this time celebrating LesBubs – more on the festival of Lesley shortly.

Lainey did some special baking to celebrate the occasion.

Were we seeing double, it was Fi and Fi on the wall.

The sunrises over the past couple of weeks have been something to behold.

Olga (on the right) completed her first Ironman race just a couple of months ago.  She is part of the Warringah Triathlon Club tribe that regularly swim and eat cake, particularly on a Friday.

Patrick and Steve shivered their way through the morning ritual.

Sheena is always having fun in the water.

Karen and Lainey were there.

Not quite sure what Karen is doing with GLD from the A team.

Now back to our lovely LesBubs who celebrated her birthday this morning in the way we swimmers celebrate, a swim in the beautiful Cabbage Tree Bay.

Les Bubs is one of the oldest swimmers at Bold and Beautiful in terms of longevity of swimming with the group, not in terms of physical age – she has a long way to go to catch up the like of Wilf.  Some time ago one of the bloggers put out the word that she was single and looking to mingle!!!   Unfortunately nothing has changed so now she’s single, desperate and ready to mingle!!!!

So swimmers, round up your single rich friends and lets get something happening for her.  I thought I might put together a bit of a sales pitch on her lovely qualities, of which there are many.

She scrubs up alright

Enjoys sharing a joke!!!

Loves a cuddle (make sure you give her one next time you see her)!!!

Is so photogenic!!

Enjoys group activities

Financially secure – her accommodation has beach views!!

Doesn’t like litter on the beach or in the waters of Cabbage Tree Bay.

Is up for a snog anytime, anywhere, anything!

She’s got all the moves

Hope you have a fabulous day Lesley with plenty of fun, laughter and shagging in the year ahead.

Have a good one everybody and let us know if you have a suitable suitor for our lovely LesBubs.

Monthly Dinner – 14th August 2018 – Guest Speaker

The next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 14th August at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Our guest speaker on the night will be B&B swimmer, Brendan Maher. Brendan, who describes himself as a very average swimmer, managed to overcome a chronic shoulder injury and swim the English Channel in July 2017. He will speak of his motivation, training for the swim, and what it’s like for the average swimmer to attempt a marathon swim. This talk will be an inspiration to all of us who count ourselves in the ‘B Team’ (or even the Zeds!).

The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential:  To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.

By attending this event, you are doing so at your own risk. Amongst other risks, there is a risk of too much alcohol, risk of injury through dance.

Risk that comes with excessive exercise, risk of social embarrassment, risk of having too much fun and being unavailable for the Sunday morning swim.

Memorial service

Our lovely fellow swimmer Greg passed away recently. He will greatly missed.
Greg MacDonaugh service is to be 2.30pm -4.30 pm Skiff club 9th August.

Winter Badge

Although the water temperature may be a little colder than you might like, there are several advantages of swimming in winter, including flat seas, good visibility and no bluebottles.

Perhaps the biggest advantage is that you can also qualify for a winter badge by swimming a minimum of 20 times between 1st June and 31st August.

You must also swim in at least 7 different weeks. If you manage to do all of your qualifying swims without a wetsuit (or other thermal enhancing equipment), you will also qualify for the coveted WWW badge (Winter without wetsuit).

So start now, and don’t forget to log your swims to qualify.

Excellent blog and wrap-up of the birthday girl’s many fine qualities (although you left out her hip stylin’ trends and quirky grooming preferences). How can such a doll be single? It defies reason. I’d turn for you Lesbubs. Happy birthday.
    Thanks Dee!

You love and deserve all the attention LesBubs – I am sure we will find you a man. They will, however, have to be put through their B&B paces before taking you out on a date!!

Love your hilarious comments too! Come and see me if you want me to arrange a date with Lesbubbs, somewhere quiet and intimate like Manly Boatshed maybe!
We’re having a Cake Stall on Saturday in aid of the Aussie farmers. Please bring something to sell or/and money to buy please!

Lainey, I would have thought Wharf Bar would be more appropriate so we could coordinate regular walk-bys and an exit strategy if required!!
