I’m a self-help junkie. Every morning I listen to motivational speakers to ensure my mind is on track, after all if its good to exercise the body it must be good to exercise the mind. Since what you think about determines everything else in your life. You literally become what you think about. This morning it was Les Brown (check out lesbrown.com). He reminds us that no matter how smart or well meaning we are there will times when life throws curve balls to us whether we deserve it or not.
And we need to be relentless in pursuit of our dream -financial, relationship or health – because its own dream and our destiny to fulfil it. That means being unreasonable, stubborn even, in pursuit of our dreams and our happiness. I know I’m crazy in my obsessions and the folks I know at the swim are crazy too. Happy crazy, get up an do it crazy, ocean crazy. Crazy and relentless and always turning up for ourselves and each other. Because us crazy ones know its the sane ones that are the mad ones – the ones that don’t get to feel the churning water and salty mouth under a cool grey October sky.
