Thursday 18 July 2019: Smashing into another new day

July 18, 20191

This morning was just one of those smashing mornings.  The water was flat, visibility was great and the sunrise spectacular.  The water temperature even played its part, jumping back up to 16 degrees again.

Drinkie led the 6.30am crew – and yes, wetsuits are allowed.  The 6.30 group are pretty quick (too quick for me) and usually get back by about 6.45-6.50.

LesBubs was telling me all about the glamour feature on the blog camera which makes everything look better than reality – I don’t think it worked but John found it all very amusing.

Annie, pictured with Alanna reckons she will never forget her roots when she is rich and famous.  A couple of weeks ago talent spotters were videoing people for an upcoming ad campaign.  Annie and Jenny A were successful and had their filming at Bronte last weekend.  Expect to see them gracing our screens in the future.

Justice knows everything there is about rugby union, especially South African rugby and is very interesting to talk to about sports psychology.  I reckon Vince was trying to get a few tips to out-psych the rest of the A-team.

This pair were a little hesitant about getting in the water.  It was a little nippy getting in and out, but in the water was just glorious and the perfect way to start the day.

This trio were caught doing a little warmup run along the beach before their swim – hope it worked for you ladies.

While these guys reckon the headline of the blog had to be Smashing into another day (or similar) – I agree, everything about this morning was just smashing!!

Anyway, till next time have a fantastic day – I will because I started it with a swim in our beautiful Cabbage Tree Bay.

Water temp : 16.6 deg C
Newbies : 1
Swimmers : 140

Here’ s an idea that B&B swimmers who live in the Manly electorate might like to support – A Festival of Seaweed!

The Sydney Institute of Marine Science together with Dorset and Anne put forward an idea for a science, art, food festival around seaweed.  and they are now at the stage of promoting the project to locals to encourage their vote. It’s through the NSW Government Generation fund.  The community submit  projects for review, but the decision as to which project receives funding rests with the Manly electorate community who are able to vote for their preferred projects. They are now at the stage of promoting the project to locals to encourage their vote. All the information is on the SIMS website – see link below with all the detail, including relevant links for voting, plus the attached document
