If you decided to skip this morning’s swim then then you missed out on an a great one. The waves were just the way I like them – relatively flat and while the water temperature was down a bit, it was great company and a spectacular way to start the morning.
Today is Manly Mermaid – Lainey Loos – Lainey – Elaine’s birthday and we celebrated in style. Here she is with husband Ted and Freddie. Elaine was the second person I met at Bold and Beautiful and is always very welcoming of newbies – for those that don’t know Elaine, she comes from Avalon every morning to run at 5.30am with Manly Beach Running Club before swimming with Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad.
She was lucky enough to capture this special visitor this morning, a beautiful Grey Nurse, while Rainer and Gemma saw a huge sting ray. These photos were taken by Elaine this morning. We hope you continue to have a wonderful day.
There was plenty of love in the air – Pete has an admiration for Freddie.
And we’re always happy to help one another.
Suooze and Nicky – Nicky has been running life drawing classes on a Friday night – have a chat to her if you are interested.
Keeping up the tradition – another great photo of Leslie – I don’t think I have ever taken a good one of her in the three years I’ve been with B&B.
Did we mention that the temperature has dropped – everyone was a little shocked to see the temperature at 16.5 this morning – it definitely took a while to get going and took a while to warm up but the clarity is great and there’s plenty of marine life about at the moment.
Annie celebrated here birthday yesterday – she always rocks the milk bottle shower with style.
Some spectacular shots of our group entering the water.
Lainey had the traditional Shelly Birthday Shower and got to do the “Lets Go”, before we all venture back to Manly to continue with our day.
You know about four years ago my husband took me to Clovelly Beach for my first real swim in the ocean pool there – I freaked out because there were fish swimming below me – how times have changed. We are so blessed to live in the best place on the planet and get to enjoy Cabbage Tree Bay every morning.
Till next time
D from the Z’s.

Happy birthday Elaine, thanks for everything you are.
Lovely blog Deanna …and just between you and me I don’t think it’s your photographic skills which are the problem when it comes to getting a good shot of Lesbubs

Thank you so much B & B friends ( and sharks) for making my birthday start in the best way ever. Lovely blog Dea. That Grey Nurse Shark was so cruisy, just slowly swimming over the rocks quite close in to shore. Everyone welcome at Wharf bar for drinks tonight from 5 x

Great Blog Dea. Hope you’re having a great day Lainey. See you tonight. It was fantastic to see a few pjs having a lovely swim and the grey nurse was just so calm (although injured) slowly swimming beneath us so we could get a great view of him. Michael S didn’t want to eyeball him so stayed his distance. The water was so clear that we could see the grey nurse in all his glory. What a morning!!
