So, what is your favourite movie? My favourite movie is Shawshank Redemption.
You might know it. It’s the story of banker Andy Dufresne, played by Tim Robbins, who is sentenced to life in Shawshank State Penitentiary for the murder of his wife and her lover, despite his claims of innocence. Over the following two decades, he befriends a fellow prisoner, contraband smuggler Ellis “Red” Redding played by Morgan Freeman. It’s the story of hope, after constant rejection Red has lost it, and he says to Andy ‘Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.’ Meanwhile Andy bounces from one scheme to another always looking for a way out. When Andy escapes, he leaves Red a letter reminding his friend ‘Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.’
We had lots of hope this morning. Sean was hoping for a coffee for his birthday.
Meanwhile Stephanie hoped her move from Cronulla for her first swim with us would be worth the trip. She reported it was both colder (the water) and warmer (the people) than she expected.
And we had our usual glamorous wall hopers….
And the A team …who some unfairly say are no-hopers
And finally one of our favourite father daughter swimming pairs…
May you be blessed with much hope…

B&B Fundraising Christmas Party
Please book early for the B & B Christmas Party, which will be held on Tuesday 11th December at 6.30 pm in the Moonshine Bar (2nd Floor) at the Steyne Hotel. All swimmers and partners/friends are welcome (no under 18s unfortunately). The theme is simply “Christmas”, so come dressed in your finest Christmas paraphernalia. The music this year will again be provided by the band, “Gluteus Maximus”, who play two types of music, Rock and Roll! The cost is $15 per head, with all proceeds going to the running costs of the B&B. Book now! Don’t miss out on this fun event, as numbers are limited. Book HERE now!
On the night, Royal Far West will be running a monster raffle and auction. Last year, this raised over $4000 for their important programs for disadvantaged kids. There will be fantastic items up for grabs, so be prepared to bid hard. Royal Far West have requested if you have any valuable items to donate for the auction or raffle, that you contact Desiree (desireec@royalfarwest.org.au), who will be co-ordinating the event for RFW.
