Thursday 13 October 2016: A whale of a good time

October 13, 20166

There’s nothing more energising in the morning than walking along the beachfront and seeing the various groups exercising, some are running, some are base camping and then of course there are the yogi’s.  I don’t know what it is but even with a crisp chill in the air it just makes you feel alive.

This morning before I even got to the surf lifesaving club I knew what the key topic of discussion would be.

Yes everyone was watching the whales off the Bower – plenty of breaches and tail flaps – if only they would come the other side of the Bower, now that would be cool.

Sheena was busying taking Derek and the team through some poses and helping them find their inner zen.

And John Bond was on hand nice and early to fulfil his water temperature duties.  Yes we approved of the 18 degrees today – much better than last week’s 15.

John Kelly, Sean and Lesley were keeping an eye on things back at headquarters.

Martin, Henrietta, Dorsett and team couldn’t wait to get going this morning.

While others limbered up before the swim to Shelly Beach.

Sue, Maria and Dorsett were first to Shelly this morning.

While these boys decided Bold and Beautiful was a perfect way to do some team bonding and an early morning meeting.  Sorry I can’t remember their names but they work for the same company and the gentleman on the left is visiting for work from WA – I am sure after a start to your day like that you will have a very productive day.

More happy faces at Shelly Beach.

John and Anne made sure everyone got to Shelly safely.

Before it was back to Manly we headed to continue with our day.

Despite the warning for heavy surf our little piece of paradise was just perfect again although clarity was a little low.

Have a great day everyone and remember:
