If Charles Darwin swam with us he would not need the extinct Dodo Bird to study because we have plenty of specimens that would make him proud. When he wrote:
‘It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.’
It could have been about us. We are a resilient bunch, not in terms of toughness but in our adaptability to conditions – temperature, swell, stingy things bring it on. Some folks adapt with rubber:
Other folks are rubber free…
Some of the species adapt by forming small herd like groups…
Survival can mean using rudimentary tools like this early electric kettle- fascinating this tribe doesn’t need power or a plug…
Occasionally the group allows members of other tribes called Newbies to join in to wider the gene pool… like this Newbie Grahame from London here with his mate James…
One of the strangest aspects of this adaptive culture is the ritualistic splashing of the head on the birthday of the member, here is rare footage of the ritual demonstrated on the beautiful Louise one of the most popular members of the tribe..
I love this tribe.

Stats:
Tribe Members 103.51 (estimated and rounded down)

Temperature 18.1 (felt like 18.2)

Lovely blog Pete. When you haven’t got a milk container, adapt and take a kettle to the swim for the postswim hot shower! Happy bday Louise x

Nice blog Pete. Milk container? Yes, but only when water drops below 18 degrees. If you use them now (18.1), what are you going to do in August when it will drop for sure to 16?

That’s all well and good, but next you’ll be telling us we’re all descended from apes

Apes, us Yoomin Beans and the higher primates share a common ancestor, don’t let anyone tell you we are descended from apes no matter the physical similarities.
Take me for instance …
