I only had to do one circuit this morning before jumping onto a recently vacated parking spot. It was on The Steyne, just south of Victoria Parade in the VIP section. All the spots from here to the Surf Club (or should I say Lifesaving Club) are designated VIP apart from the very last one of the beach side. This is the Rockstar spot. There is only one spot that is more coveted, it’s the Unicorn spot. It’s located at the Eastern end of Ashburner just in front of the disabled spot. I think I have nabbed that one maybe 3 times. Do you have names for any other spots? Please feel free to add those in the comments section. Creativity is encouraged but please keep it clean(ish) as this is a family friendly blog.
But to important matters. Today we say goodbye to the world’s best barista and one of the nicest and happiest people in the whole galaxy, Vitor. Fear not he’ll be back at the end of February. Have a great trip, mate.

Today’s low tide made for a relatively easy entry apart for the gap between the end of the ramp and the sand. The end was also very slippery, so look out.

As usual I arrived after 7am. As I was getting in the water I saw Ian who said he’d seen a Dusky between the pool and Attracta’s Rock also known as Bird Poo Rock. I didn’t see it but it was a good day for encounters.
Along the rocks around the corner from the Point I saw an Angel Fish. It’s a tropical fish and has arrived quite early. This is the best I could do. They are quite shy, unlike most of the CTB regular residents and I didn’t want to hassle it too much.

Some of our beautiful Diamond Fish, much more relaxed around the media

And the little golden ones lit up by the sun

I saw Pauline on the way to Shelly. She said there wasn’t much to see today. I said I was going to look for Basil in the sea grass. She said good luck. Thanks for the good wishes, Pauline. I didn’t see him/her in the sea grass but on the way there, singing .

Then I saw a Numb Ray aka a Coffin Ray. They shock their prey – they sneak up on them and shout bollocks (sorrynotsorry)

It then swam over a Wobbegong.

And finally a big Eagle Ray

And mermaids getting getting some rays of the other variety

It really is a beautiful day today. Enjoy.
I heard this song today and was reminded of how much I like it.
