So a fair bit of chatter already emerging about the Spring Triple Crown. With conditions like this it’s time to get serious about racing! 18.9 degrees today and 71 logged in so far!
So after a 5 week unbeaten streak… who dethroned the Bishop this morning?
And the ever gracious 2nd place getter…
And this guy said he came 3rd… but he is known for claiming dubious deadheats…
So it looks like the Spring Triple Crown will be held over the 31st of Oct, 1st Nov and culminating on Melbourne Cup Day. Two divisions this Triple…
In Elite A we have the Spaniardo, Scrappy Scotty, The Bishop, Brad, Irishman Alex, Super Matt and Buck.
In Regular A we have Scroll Back Sterling Half Way Brain, Sophie Chan, Toddy, JP, Dreamboat (who will hopefull be flying in for the event), Kara and Sarah.
Well all this talk of racing made me hungry for some breakfast… but unfortunatley the Shmope has already eaten all my yoghurt!
On another note did you read Julia Baird’s excelent article about Faith and Doubt in the New York Times? Here is a link… you never know who is going to be quoted.

Here is a great film from Amanda Hay at the OzMus explaining something about fish breeding habits:

Hope to be back in the water soon, missing y’all.

Thanks for the triple crown update.
To eliminate any confusion about the triple crown you need to have a finish line drawn on the beach and an independent photographer for the photo finish.

Timbo if you are serious about competition we should add a “middle of the pack” medal which is much more competitive given the number of competitors and the creativity in swimming styles.. You guys coming 1st from 7 is a soft win compared to the real competition in the middle…

Some ancient cultures believed that eating the flesh of your enemies confers spiritual and physical benefits. I applied a similar logic when i purchased JP’s old wetsuit earlier this year.
Let me tell you, it doesnt work. Even Lesbubbles still manages to beat me on most days.
On the upside, i get a lot of comments how ‘buff’ i look in that sleeveless orca suit.

Yes, Julia’s article on Doubt and Faith puts Justin Welby’s remarks into intelligent perspective – very eloquently as you remarked, Jane. And what a gorgeous picture of the Yogurt Princess!

Hi Everyone,
I’ve left my wetsuit in the shower of the men’s change room at Manly SLSC after the BnB swim this morning (Friday 10th). It’
s a medium Orca sleeveless, red and black colour. A long shot, but if anyone is in the area could you duck in and see if it is still there? Thanks, Adrian agwright72@gmail.com PS> I know this is actually a sign that I don’t need the wetsuit anymore 🙂
