With a high tide and about a metre of south swell, we hit the water early this morning with the 6:40 group due to some early appointments. The water was a bit murky with a green hue mostly due to no sunlight and the early hour I expect, however the temperature seemed like a very reasonable mid 18. And for those wondering we will have 2-3 metres from the South by Saturday so enjoy the calm.
The 6:40 express was a quiet affair.
So early John hadn’t done the temps yet.
Besides the odd passing ski and paddle boarder, we were just about on our own.
A few little waves on the point shaking up the high tide.
And for any of you doubters, Lesley was at Shelley this morning.
And the return was equally uneventful.
Have a great day one and all.
Brian
The next B&B monthly dinner will be held on Tuesday 10th October at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker on the night will be one of our regular swimmers, John Bryan, whose talk is entitled “Life after the Tsunami”
John has travelled widely in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese. He will talk about how the Japanese are re-estabishing coastal communities in North East Japan, and how the Tohoku people are handling life after the tsunami (now 6yrs ago), and protecting and rebuilding their towns.
The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.

ps. well done Natalie for taking the temperature for the first time …it was quite traumatic for her especially as no one believed her first reading of 19.1 …and she was made to go back and do a second one!
