The Bishop is in Melbourne and the Doctor is on nights….. Blogging in absentia!

02/10/20146

Ok so maybe a little hiccup in the Bishop/Doctor blog communications this week….. The Bishop is in Melbourne and the Doctor thought that was next week and is on night shifts…. So she didn’t swim this morning (well she almost took a tumble into the birthing pool but that is a swimming different story….) and was about to go to bed when she thought “I’ll read today’s blog and see what I missed”. After pressing refresh a few times whilst eating breakkie with nothing coming up .. It suddenly dawned in her that The Bishop had in fact meant that she was blog today today! Oops! So here she is….. Oh goodness…. I’ve started talking about myself in the third person… Never a good sign! Apologies for the post-nights haze and forgetfulness! Word on the street is that today was STUNNING! I suspect things happened as thus….. Everyone leapt in the water; no one waited at the point; John Kelly got annoyed because no one waited at the point; everyone swam to Shelley; some people did a few press-ups; everyone waited at Shelley some more; someone said let’s go; everyone went off; Sterling almost won because Dave’s not here and The Bishop is in Melbourne; the gang went for coffee; Sterling went on about how he almost won, then everyone went home to prepare for the next swim tomorrow (+/- work). Is that about right?!!! Oh goodness….. Just had a message from Sterling saying he didn’t even swim…. I thought at least that would have been a given! Luckily however he was keeping tabs on the competition and was able to tell me 1st place today was to an unknown contender, 2nd to Buck, and 3rd place to Sophie. He also sent me this photo of the morning…. Looks like he couldn’t resist a “drive by” before heading to Woody’s farm for the day with the kids!

Here are a few photos of Rusty and Attracta’s birthdays from last week care of Elaine, that did make it in time for the blog…..

Here we see dear Dreamboat and The Bishop gallavanting around in Melbourne! This is all part of The Bishop’s secret plan to kidnap Dave and smuggle him back to Manly forever!

Here is Sterling in a Giraffe suit….. Because I forgot to put it in last week’s despite threatening such….
Here is the amazing photo that the drone took of us last week (I think it was Wednesday) – this was brought in as an anti-cheating mechanism for those vying for a win…. I believe the photo is care of James Mulhall.
So a tired Dr Becky signing off. Apologies for the confusion! Have a wonderful day one and all and I shall see you next week when I’m back to the hours of a normal person! DRB x

I have a number of friends currently working on the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone which is rapidly spiralling out of control. They are in desperate need of assistance – both monetary and from experienced personnel. Please read about the amazing work the King’s partnership in Sierra Leone is undertaking and consider helping in anyway you can or forward to anyone who might be interested in helping. http://kslp.org.uk

Don’t miss Penny’s talk at the next B&B Dinner. She is one of my colleagues at the OzMus and is the Go-To person for marine invertebrates, so stop asking me!
