A very slow start to the morning but there was a definite buzz building as people arrived.
Initially I thought it was the rare sighting of Rainer, king of the foamies, our own version of Kelly Slater
However, today even he was outshone by a newbie by the name of Chloe McCardell.

Chloe apart from having swum the English Channel 35 times also holds the world record for the longest ever unassisted open-water swim, at 128 km.
It certainly puts my feeble double efforts to shame.
It was also day 2 of the cake stall in aid of bushfire relief. $800 worth of cakes sold yesterday with Roz keen to break a combined total of $1,400 today.
Sorry, I’ve just spent 2 hours uploading photos and text but Typepad has collapsed and I can’t add any further photos to the blog.

Not the best product, the old Typepad. Still, you got the shots that mattered.

A very big welcome to Chloe today! It was the astute Henrietta who spotted her English Channel T shirt. So nice of Chloe to answer our never-ending questions about her epic swims. There was quite a buzz as she raced back strongly to the fore on the single and then accompanied us back on the double. Not everyday you get to meet such a champ and a modest one at that.

Nice one, Michael! Rainer Slater – I like it. I feel your Typepad pain – it’s happened to me more than once.
