Spectacular!

04/05/20196

Today as I walked from North Steyne to South Steyne, I caught sight of some early swimmers heading towards Queenscliff. I can’t tell you how beautiful it was, the sea was calm apart from a small wave here and there. And behind the waves, were initially two swimmers together, arm for arm, then slightly behind three more also in sync. There was hardly any movement in the water behind them, so smooth and sleek with their strokes. Some of the swimmers are training for South Head swim next weekend.
I caught up with Dan and Jane who were the first two I found out afterwards, Nan joined them for a photo.

Two of the newbies checking in today, they had perfect conditions to start with the group:

The light was beautiful as swimmers headed into the water difficult to capture on camera today:

Brian and Melissa have new matching goggles, nice and reflective and shiny!

Some of these swimmers did doubles and triples and equivalent to 4-5km swims today, taking advantage of the flat conditions afte the bumpy sessions during the week:

Really pretty, I didn’t swim today so admired the view from the walkway to Shelly:

One of my views from the point, Napolean and Polly being cute:

I had coffee with from L to R- Ingrid, Katrina, Chris and Chris-Katrina reached her 1000km during the week as did James Frawley. More coming up in the next few weeks. Congratulations Katrina with a home made sash 🙂

All relevant notices below, WOOF!

Stats from today: temp 20.6 degrees, 390 swimmers total, and 12 newbies.

S#!tbox Rally
One of our long time swimmers, Tim Slessor is heading off on Shitbox Rally on Monday. The rally raises funds for the Cancer Council of NSW. During the event 250 cars worth less than $1000 travel from Perth to Uluru and then on to Sydney, mainly off road. There are lots of break downs and retirements and of course lots of fun along the way. Tim is part of the support team working on the cars to get them across the line each night but he and his co driver, Alex, still need to raise funds. If you would like to support Tim and Alex please follow the link below to donate. Thank you all very much.

A delightful swim today – if a little cool in the breeze while gasbagging post swim. And poor Ian deserves extra cuddles when next you see him. Before the swim he was being severely berated because of the number of people ignoring dangerous surf conditions.
