Today is almost a year to the day that I started swimming with the B & B and I couldn’t let the occasion pass without a special mention to this guy.
Brad very kindly took this very nervous and scared looking 36 year old under his wing on her first day, and like any good parent/coach, offered advice and reassurance, stayed with me out to the point, shouted encouragment, even watched me for a few strokes…..
I felt on top of the world…like I could do anything…and then…
He left.
That’s right. Took me to the sharks-feeding trough, and then poof. Gone.
Thanks Brad 😉 xx
Lots of comments spring to mind …. but apparently Drinky’s only concern was that his towel was pointing the wrong direction !?

This one looks like he’s done some mileage …. and he’s swam 200k !… Well done Vinnie 🙂

Last in First out…..Tim explaining how much he beats Sterling by (7 inches apparently) despite the faded pants and being the last man standing on esplanade.

The only thing slowing Sterling down is all the ladies after a piece of these …
he also has a Spiderman Doona cover and Superman wallpaper …

And speaking of Super Heros …
Now, these guys assured me that they were a serious running group, and not just walking the well trodden path of shame following one of “those” parties … not convinced myself … the ninja-gimp was very cagey 😉

and then there was Alex the Architect. Doesn’t actually swim, just likes the feel of the wetsuit, and asked to refer to him only as “Aqua-man” …

Yay for Meredith ! … Congrats on your first B & B swim … turn that frown upside down ! where else can you parade around half naked and catch lice !? .
…..”JP’s place” a chorus of girls sang 😉

More newbies… Both new, both called Anders, both from The Netherlands …

CLACKERS ! at the point
I think it’s safe to say that if you want fish, you’re better off reading Nick’s blog … I could never do them justice, and I just find that there are just too many distractions …

Finally, a very Happy Birthday to the lovely Retha 🙂

Jones 🙂

Stop getting distracted by Rusty’s butt and put your camera on underwater setting! Great blog Konesy, you’ve got a real way with words and fitting them with photos! What is Robert doing? how come Tim’s budgies are so faded? Love your clackers at The Point!

Love it Kelly- very funny comments 🙂
Just wondering if anyone’s seen my new grey/silvery speedo goggles and standard issue blue/orange flippers from earlier this week? I’d be very grateful if they turned up.

An Etiquette question for the lads: Is it OK to rush over and have a cuddle with Storchy and Drinks when they are talking to other women, or should I wait until they are unattended? (a rare happening).

Brad is so fast that I’ve never once seen him in the water, so that was some accomplishment on your first swim!
I think your fish shots are very impressive and love your quirky touches:)
Retha, what a star! Wishing you many, many happy B ‘n B birthdays and a great year ahead!

Excellent qu, Jane and the ones from Anna Mc and AL yesterday were great as well!
I didn’t think it ever happened – that is Storchy & Drinks not talking to other women, so you could wait for ever…. but let’s see what the experts say!

Another Lost Property Success Story; I trawled through the blog comments from earlier in the week and saw that Slower Ian N had picked them up. Yay!
Now it’s just the new speedo grey googles that are missing.

Anna, Ian has a trunk-load of goggles – they don’t even get a mention anymore! Probably picked up with the fins….

Help! I logged in for Manly-Shelly return, but haven’t appeared on the attendance list. Maybe my internet connection is playing up?

Hi Jane. Try logging in again. Once you have logged in you should see the history page, where today’s swim should appear. If it is on the history page it is logged. If not, let me know.

No wonder Richard has overtaken me on the PC – not to mention (ever) Little Sarah!

Sorry, no grey/silvery ones. But I do have a pair of ladies Vogue glasses in a white case with a small amount of cash. Not sure when they appeared in the bag, but must have been recently.

Oh Jane, why not come on an early double or two or three with me? I’m always looking for dates, but you’ll have to slow down a little…. It really was a beautiful swim this morning leaving at 6.30 and much lighter than it was during the week – I could even make out the shapes of other swimmers nearby!

If I can get an early night I just might do that – thankyou LSA. Gotta do SOMETHING about Richard……

Great blog Jonesy!
Honest appraisal of the days events.
Regarding jonesy’s person training – I highly recommend her.
She inflicts pain in such a gentle persuasive way! Haha
Question for the professors
What is the ediquate if you are swimming admiring a lovely set of legs and they turn out to be Rainers lady legs?
What is the ediquate if you like a photo but your not sure who took it?
I don’t know – an example might be Nick vs Lainey? Just hypothetical.
What is the ediquate when passing Jules on the PC Challenge? Do you stop like not passing Bradmans score out of respect?

Challenging questions there Shaun.
1) rainers legs. Just whatever you do, don’t touch them
2) just pretend it’s someone’ else’s like Lesbubbles and gush about how wonderful she is under the water. Ahem. (That’s taking photos under the water!!)
3) PC challenge? What’s that?
Hope that helps

I saw Rusty and Kelly sitting together today at Manly !
She was on the phone to someone else and he was reading glossy magazine. So it looks like they secretly married.
