Scrapes of the Bold and Beautiful

16/06/20175

Lovely morning down at the swim – calm, clear and still warm! It reminds me that the annual nude solstice swim must be coming up on the shortest day of the year (not the only shortest thing you will see). Last year it was freezing… but temps seem to be holding up this year.

Who loves Roger? What a great part of our community he is! If the world was full of Roger’s it would be a better place…

Talking of local legends… Jeff “the rooster” Parsons was in fine form this morning. Do note that proper swim cap placement is about an inch lower than this…

It was the big 1000km today for Louise this morning. And didn’t she enjoy every moment of the tunnel of triumph!

The Kid is recovering well from this scrape on Wednesday. I remember when the Kid first joined the swim, he would leave plenty of room coming around the rocks… but now he is an animal over the last 50m….

Many moons ago this photo was posted and discouraged in the comments for encouraging youngsters to go too close to the rocks… oh how we laughed… turns out they were right – what a bad influence we have been on the Kid…

Some of you might enjoy this. We are hosting an African Children’s Choir in 2 weeks time at Manly Life at Star of the Sea Theatre in Manly. A young Brisbane mum will also share her story of moving to Uganda to set up an orphanage for the street children. Inspiring stuff!

Alright, have a great day.

The Bishop!

Congratulations Louise! What a mighty effort. I found a pair of goggles (left on hook), a pink and blue size 12 jacket (left on hook) and a pair of flippers cap and goggles left in the sink, all in the ladies change room. I’ll hand them to management tomorrow

ps. if anyone was worried about the black swan – Sydney Wildlife have taken him to the vet to be checked so he is in safe hands 🙂

Love reading about and seeing all the scrapes, keep it up Tim Gio!
Roger would have loved our recent ‘scrape’ – being caught in a no 8 (super) typhoon/cyclone which landed at the time our midnight flight to Spain was due to take off. We only spent 8 hours at the airport! Hope you have such fun when you come to Hong Kong, Roger!!
