Another beautiful morning down at Manly Beach. This view never gets old. I don’t think it ever will.It has been an absolute pleasure to blog for you this year. I have loved meeting all of you. I love your energy, your smiling faces. I love that we are all from different walks of life, different ages, ethnicities, cultures, religions etc etc etc yet we all have the love for the ocean and the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad in common.

Merry Christmas to you all! Much love xx

Humans of the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad

NEWBIES aka First Timers aka Bold and Beautiful Virgins

I asked them all:

1)What brought you down to Manly Beach to swim with the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad?

Introducing Adrian

“I have swum before without the cap a couple of years ago. I am here because it is good to be part of a swimming community and to swim in the beautiful ocean. I used to work here and I used to see every morning people come for a swim. So I thought I should get into it. It has taken me a while to come back because I started a new career in the city.”

 Introducing Dave

“I actually came down here a couple of weeks ago for a swim and we actually got run over by you lot. We were in between your early group and your morning group. We hit one group on the way out and the other group on the way back. Haha.”

Nice to have you join us Adrian and Dave

 Introducing Claire

“I want to see the fish on the way over to Shelly Beach.”

Introducing Brigette

“What a beautiful way to start the morning and to see beautiful Manly and get some exercise in before kicks off.”

Great to have you a part of our Squad Claire and Brigette

Introducing Anton

“I don’t want to swim with the Bold and Beautiful. I am here to overcome my fears. You may need to save me I might drown.”

Newbie Squad who all enjoyed their first swim with us. Yay Anton you SURVIVED!!!!!

Humans of the Bold and Beautiful who are NOT Newbies

Soon to be Mums both around 5 months pregnant

Kristy ” We were looking for a new challenge together about a year ago. So we have been doing it ever since.”

Kate “I have been doing it for a year now. I used to run a lot and wanted to do something different. I never did ocean swimming before that. It is a challenge. But I love it.”

Boomerang Bags Manly Launch – 23rd Ocean Care Day Festival

Date: This Sunday 4 Dec @ 12.30pm

Time: 12.30pm

Location: Southern Stage Manly Beachfront (opp Royal Far West)

Join us in the celebrations of launching this exciting initiative into the community of Manly at the 23rd Ocean Care Day Festival.

Boomerang Bags is a bag share initiative driven by our community to reduce single use plastic pollution in our community.

From next week, look out for the bright red boomerang bag boxes located in local businesses throughout Manly’s shopping precinct.

The boxes will be stocked with FREE reusable fabric shopping bags for customers to borrow when they forget to bring their own.

Simple borrow a bag when you need it most and return to a red BB box along with any extras you have at home.

The availability of free reusable bags reduces the amount of plastic materials entering our landfills and waterways and encourages a mentality of re-use in our community.
