What better way to start another blistering hot day than by going for a swim in the ocean! The water felt refreshing on the body at 23.9 degrees which was cooler than the 28 degree air temperature. You would never guess that we only have 2 weeks left of summer, let’s enjoy every minute. The fabulous swimmers doing the 2km, 6km and 10km swim have chosen the perfect day to complete these long distances. Just a short blog again from me this month as I am heading out to the beach with my family again now.
The 7am Crew heading in
Approximately 410 of us swimmers today at 7am
The Point
Off we go to Shelly
The Squad at Shelly Beach
Elliot joining the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad for the first time being accompanied by his awesome mum Jules
Jules and Elliot heading back to Manly
Spotted this luscious Jelly Fish. I found it mesmerising as it danced through the water
Spotted lots of fishies around half way
Made it back to Manly safely. Woohoo!
Humans of the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad
I always ask “Why did you start swimming with the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad?” and “How does it make you feel?”
These guys are pretty special they are my NEIGHBOURS!!!! Our kids have gone to school together have been in the same classes and same sports teams. Between the 4 of them they have 10 children. SUPER WOMEN
Left to Right- Suzie, Dana, Delaney, Elliot and Jules
Suzie- “When I was running I always saw the Bold and Beautiful swimming and I wanted to do it. Then these guys were doing it this year so I started and this was my third swim.
Dana- ” I started doing it to assist my training with Can Too about 5 years ago. It makes me feel awesome all day.”
Delaney- “I started for fitness and health and because of friends. I feel energised as well.”
Elliot- ” I started because my mum really wanted me to and I really loved it.”
Jules- “I started doing it because my neighbours were doing it and I wanted to get fit. It makes me feel energised.”

Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. So pleased to have swum my first (possibly only) 10k. Thanks so much to all the wonderful BnB people for their support in and out of the water…encouragement from fellow swimmers, feeding crew and the crowd that hangs around to clap when you exit feeling beat. It means so much. We never walk alone!
JK that stout is going to taste good tonight xx

Well done Nat on a great Blog and for talking your partner into keeping an eye on all your kids
10 kilometres means about 10,000 strokes ….. I think y’all can veg. out the rest of the day (at least) and be waited on hand and foot by loved ones.

Nice blog Nat,good shots of those large jellyfish.
Well done to all those who completed the 10k or 6k swim challenges this morning. Sea conditions were great for the whole swim and the air temperature not as severe as anticipated for the morning. Unfortunately most of the 7am crew encountered the dreaded blue bottles on the last return swim from Queenscliff but to their credit, completed the course.
