Well a huge congratulations to the 6km and 10km badge swimmers today. While I was supporting my daughter in her rowing efforts (see photo at bottom) two of my people were slogging it out for 4 hours in the water earning their 10km summer badge. This was following up from their 6km effort just a few weeks ago, while I am yet to tick off even the triple badge. I am in awe of their effort. I am sure while they were in the water JL was trying to come up with more ways to save the planet; quietly guiding us towards using less plastic, using more keep cups, and generally creating less waste. BM on the other hand would be contemplating life, caring for her friends and generally being a thoughtful, kind and wise person. Swimming with the BnB has had so many positive impacts on my life and spending more time with these two inspirations is one of them!
By all reports it was a beautiful swim; crystal clear water all the way to Freshwater, not a blue bottle in sight and a friendly, catchable wave at Manly.
But because I wasn’t there to witness it, swim it, enjoy it, or photograph it for myself I have delved into the archives to find some of my favourite Manly sunrises from 2017. Looking forward to many more sunrises with my people in 2018.
Sorry for the late post, a minor hiccup with the roster!
STATS; lots of swimmers, a few newbies and a beautiful temperature.
Oh, and here’s my daughter (far left), and her crew, at the regatta today- well done girls!
Royal Far West
Royal Far West were delighted last year with the response of B&B swimmers to their request for assistance with their activity programs. This year RFW is looking for volunteers to help with their beach games on Wednesday afternoon 3.30-5 pm They run beach volleyball, sand play, volleyball, cricket and soccer. Children are of all ages and abilities, and love the help and positive attention. If you can assist with this very rewarding program, please contact Anna Bowden at annab@royalfarwest.org.au.
Help Wanted
B&B would like assistance with data entry for our mailing list. Due to the increasing number of newbies, our hard-working data entry volunteers have become seriously overworked. So if you have a computer and a spare hour each week or fortnight to enter names and emails into our database, can you please contact Ian on ugoboyo@gmail.com.
