History
The Triple Crown comp is run by A-Team, and is a three-leg swim race from Shelly. They started it in December 2013, and it happens four times per year … following the seasons. Autumn’s event started at Easter with two legs, and third leg will be run on Anzac weekend. As you can see below, three guys are almost even on points.
Who shall we root for ..? (Not a Spaniard pun)

Triple Crown: No doping allegations have been lodged as yet …

The green theme? Because of these three copycats – all greened to the gills. (Not today – it’s an old photo from two weeks ago)

Here’s an even older pic.
It’s one of our regular swimmers (at left – 1940s, Balgowlah Heights). With his two younger brothers and globite school cases. I think this is a poignant photo

Last year’s full-time Saturday blogger Anna Banana turned up today, at this; the start of school holidays. A teaching graduate, she has landed in Yarramalong (inland of Central Coast) at Darkinjung Barker school. It’s a new initiative for Aborigines, and Anna has 25 indigenous kids – from K to year 6. Go, Anna … a beautiful thing. With dad Garry Brown and Kerry our lifesaver.

We should note that the Spaniard won last winters triple crown.
The Anzac Day race has a beach finish which should mix things up. The A-team are not known for their running prowess.

I like this subtle use of a defining colour to qualify for blog inclusion, must be a first. Can you put out an APB next time so we can come prepared? Thanks Roger

Sorry Spaniard for missing you on Winners List … will fix next time
Apologies to Globite, for 1940s – should be: 1960s (that’s a two decade mistake)
Have a lovely weekend all 🙂

Another superb blog Roger, thanks. Is that gentleman Jim with his globite and bros ? Well done Anna Banana – now there is an occupation that makes a positive impact.
