Sat 3/10: What are you doing this weekend?

03/10/20156

A few bluebottle friends arrived at Cabbage Tree Bay downtown village and asked a local groper shopkeeper what the best things were to do on a weekend.  The groper answered, “Well, if you can get up early enough, there’s a huge squad of big fish that swim overhead at 7am.  Yeah… it’s a pretty amazing sight with lots of colour, splashing, and bubbles.  It’s really safe, too – some of the big fish come near, but they never bite.  Some of the locals even go and join in!”

So the bluebottle and her mates decided to gather at Shelley Beach for the show. They were a little bit scared of the big fish and kept their distance.  The big fish came and they went and the bluebottles cried out to each other “Wow! That was awesome!  What a way to spend a morning in Cabbage Tree Bay!”

A big night then:

Special Event – Guest Speaker

The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 13th October at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker for the night will be one of our own swimmers, Merrilee Linegar, who is a qualified nutritionist and herbalist. Merrilee’s topic for the night will be “Brain Longevity”. The way you live your life today affects how your brain functions tomorrow. Merrilee will discuss how natural medicine, diet and lifestyle improvements can optimise brain function, prevent memory loss and decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s. While most of us keep our bodies fit by swimming regularly, we often forget about our brains. Don’t miss this one!

The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential:  To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please BOOK HERE NOW

Nice blog Anna. Very cute! Biggest coincidence ever: there I was swimming my laps along the boring black line of Springwood Aquatic Centre, and what should I see but a distinctive pink cap! It was another swimmer who lives in Winmalee, whose sister lives up at Wenty Falls and also swims with B & B. I’m glad the pink arm of the B & B reaches up this far. See yers all tomorrow. I hope someone will swim with me – I am quite nervous after my hibernation………Love from the Blue Mountains xo.

Haha good one Anna! I think you’re right those blueys have heard all about this famous swim and wanted to be part of it! As bad as it was the other day with all those blueys I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love that we still have all these amazing scary creatures out there with us. 🙂

Good take on the swim – saw some of the Blueys who dived for the steps at half way and we’re looking a bit worse for wear.
Didn’t see any in the water – thankfully!

I have lost a DJ’s bag containing my snorkel, mask, flippers and cap. Last seen Friday morning at 7am B&B swim . If anyone has seen it could they please let me know or if it’s found I’d love them back. Otherwise I might have to graduate to swimming goggles and no flippers! And I’m not ready for that. I’m there most days. Thanks guys
