Sat 30/5: An expectant morning

30/05/20156

I cannot quite put my finger on it, but there was something rather serene and inviting about today’s swim.  The clouds parted ever so slightly and the greyness of the morn beckoned us in.

John’s temperature test this morning:

The 6.30ers without wetsuits looked a little chilly!

All around the May pole:

One of the many reasons why Manly Beach is famous:

Not sure the reason behind these beautiful flowers near the ramp:

The royals came to visit:

Snorkelers:

Dodging seaweed – level expert!

Spewing that all my cuttlefish photos turned out blurry – it must have been the excitement of the moment!

A chill in the air at Shelly:

Yay for first time on the blog!

All in sync at The Point:

Have a lovely day!

Anna Bananna 😀

Please please please let Sparkles know if you’ve found her B&B jumper.  It has years of B&B Winter Badges and also a Sea Shepherd badge.

B&B Dinner

The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 9th June, 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker for the night will be one of our own swimmers, Annie Sophia – Revive My Style. Do you love clothes or hate them? Do you appreciate when someone makes an effort, but can’t be bothered yourself? Do you think you would be bothered if only you had more money, time and expertise?

Our very own Annie Sophia Larkin understands. After working in television at the Canberra Press Gallery, DJing and modelling in London and solo backpacking around Burma, Annie sees life for what it is and how humans experience it. Come to an entertaining evening where Annie will share with you not only her life’s journey, but also the advantages of knowing how to dress well and how to attract others to you by being uniquely you. With experience in media, fashion and corporate and certification in Personal Styling, Makeup Artistry, Personal Training and Nutrition, Annie will creatively educate, encourage & inspire you. An evening not to be missed.

The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Nice blog Anna. Can people keep an eye out for illegal fisherman around in Cabbage Tree Bay. Came across 2 at 5.45am, one fishing, the other standing by with a large bucket with a cuttlefish in it. Evidently they had caught it before I got there. I asked them to put it back but they did not so I told them I was going to report them. Needless to say they scampered after that with bucket in tow and Cabbage Tree Bay minus one cuttlefish. Please can the bloggers not put location of specific fish/turtle/cuttlefish sighting as these guys were in the exact place that the cuttlefish was reported as being seen the other day. I just wish I had got their number plate but I was only one female against 2 very large men who said they did not know CTB was a no fishing marine park! As if!!!

As mentioned in the blog the other day the flowers are in honour of Jacqui who is the Mum of one of our swimmers Charlie and her sister Kristy. Jacqui was a regular fixture at that spot on the beach. She passed unexpectedly last Sunday and is missed by very many in the Manly Community. RIP Jacqui and love to Charlie, Kristy and their families

Well done Lee for speaking up and trying to protect our cuttlefish – how devastating that it was taken. Maybe there should be cameras installed which cover the access to the water and the carpark so that it isn’t just reliant on individuals to try and get their number plates or to confront them
