Sat 2/5: Elizabeth clocks 1000km!

02/05/201520

The swell was up and we faced challenging conditions today.  The group split into a few options: some braved the waves at the beach, others navigated the rocks at half way, and some entered from Shelley to swim out and back.  The warm water made up for the chop!  Today was a special day for Elizabeth who clocked an amazing 1000km with B&B!

Alan said, “Elizabeth is my motivation”.  Elizabeth’s response was “Alan is my nemesis”.  Refer to the table above and you’ll see why!

Some B&Bers brave the waves:

Checking out the conditions:

It’s all in the timing at half way:

Chop chop made it hard to maintain rhythm!

Everyone congregated out of the water today:

These guys were among the few who braved the surf at The Point this morning:

Rocking a new wetsuit!

Congratulations to these two on their engagement!  (Yes Shaun had to get in there…)

Look who I bumped into!  The woman of the hour, Elizabeth, on her way to 1000kms:

Getting out at half way:

Enjoy the weekend dodging the raindrops!

Anna Bananna 🙂

Congratulations on this achievement, Elizabeth! It’s not so much the number of Kms as the persistence you have shown in facing physical challenge. I remember when you were flat out making it from halfway to Shelly. And now you are a regular doubler. A tribute to your stick-to-it-iveness. It’s a pleasure to share the ocean with you!

congrats Elizabeth, great achievement. Won’t be too much longer til I am back from my injury, you’ll get the big hug then. And keep swimming, you know Alan is on your toes.

    Congratulations Elizabeth!
    You truly are an inspiration.
    Well done.
    Nice blog Ms Banana.
    Nailed it.
I am so despondent with Lippy these days.
An engagent photo bomb, blog tarting doesn’t get any better and where was he?
The word is that all he is concerned with these days is speed.
    What have I done? 🙁
