The main group headed north along the beach front today. (There have been bunches of jimbles in the bay.) I made the most of the different surroundings by swimming in the ‘wave zone’ where the water pulls you slightly off the beach, lifts you gently upwards before you ride the back of the wave as it crashes into the sand. The movement was calming and I really enjoyed the motion of the ocean as it carried me. The sun twinkled through the shallows making patterns on the sand. Despite the cool water I found myself wishing I hadn’t worn a wetsuit so that I could feel the water streaming past my skin. I’ll let some of my photos describe my swimming pleasure. (Please click on the images to enlarge.)
Which way?
A bit of confusion before we set off:
Let the water be our guide.
Perhaps the only fish you see going north.
Hello over there!
Speckled light:
You know how I love bubbles!
Another Anna (Bick) somersaults to finish 🙂
Have a superb day!

I like the way those bubbles stream off the swimmer’s digging hand 🙂

Totally agree Anna there is something really lovely about that swim in the gentle to and fro swell of the waves as one heads north. You described it very well. Lovely photos again, thanks for another great blog

THE REAL FUN IS TOMORROW – Lets make the Pink Caps winners
Todays cake stall was to raise awareness for tomorrow’s walk. Please join us for a fun walk: 5km from/to Shelly starting 10am. There will be bacon & egg/ sausage sizzle before & after. Dress in purple and be a bit silly just for the fun of it.
To join the walk follow this link (or paste in your browser):
http://avnersfoundation.org.au/fund-raising/future-events/item/sydney-2015-put-your-foot-down-walk-for-pancreatic-cancer?category_id=23
Then self register and join your entry to our Team: Pink Caps.
From the cakes + Tuesday we nearly have $1500. If 20 of us walk that will be $2000 in total. Then we only need another $1,000 plus change to have the Pink Caps win the team competition. Its such an incredibly important cause. I am SURE we can do it so please support. Thanks, thanks, thanks X

Such a good cause, such yummy cakes, and so good to see you all again. Although I’ve been hibernating over winter, I look forward to swimming together with this gorgeous group of people soon. Love from the Blue Mountains xx.

Beautiful conditions for the swim up north as illustrated in the great selection of photos. Did not sight any jimbles.
Enjoyed the cakes from the stall for a worthy cause.
