Today we swapped pink caps for REDFEB ones to raise money for Heart Research Australia. The fundraising has been very successful so far with just over $1000 raised. To reach our fundraising target of $3,000 before the end of the month, please dig into your pockets (or credit cards)! To donate, or set up your own fundraising page, please go to our REDFEB website HERE. Please be generous for this very worthwhile cause. We are also on track to beat our total kilometres swum last year, with just over 4,000 kilometres swum already.

Whether you swam with a loved one or not this Valentine’s Day, the scent of love permeated the morning. Love can take many a form, but it is the simple things that remind us of what we each hold dear. Today we swam with a love of Cabbage Tree Bay, the ocean, and the lure (and allure) of Eau de B&B. Yes, love was in the air this morning.
You can see it here in the beauty and colour of the morning sunrise:

When lovers spend Valentines together swimming:

When we join together:

A love of the mateship kind:

Eau de B&B is also found in the bright coloured swimmers men use to attract the opposite sex:

Sharing the love:
390 swimmers (woo hoo!)
16 newbies (go you good thangs!)
24.7 degrees
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Does anyone know if there’s a major event of the running/swimming/surfing/floaty boaty type at Manly tomorrow? I just remember having huge frustration getting through the gridlock one morning around this time last year, because of a half marathon or something like that. Nearly missed the swim, and that isn’t good!

Shelly that’s how many red caps were taken so there must be quite a few who have not logged their swim…!
There were quite a few regrouping at The Point for a double, a 6km and a 10km. Mr Bond was briefing them as I swam by – well done to all!

Well done to all the swimmers who completed the 6k and 10k challenge swims this morning. Conditions looked unfavourable but turned out to be good for ocean swimming. A NE wind chopped the water somewhat on the last leg from Queenscliff. There were quite a few first timers today who joined in the experience.
Thanks to our 10k land crew Elizabeth, Shelley and Ange for meeting us at Manly with much needed food and drink.
The last 10k swim is scheduled for Sat 7 March.

Congratulations to all 6km and 10km swimmers! Thanks John Bond for guiding us through the morning and thanks to our special aid station volunteers. You made the morning that much easier and were so appreciated! And that chocolate slice … YUM! Powered us to the finish.
Lovely Valentines Day blog Anna.

Hi
Great swim this morning. So lovely and warm!
I am heading down to Huskisson, Jervis Bay Friday 20th to the triathlon with some friends, however their car is full. Is there anyone from the B & B who would like to drive down with me?!?!? I would love the company! Will probably head down 9.30ish Fri and leave to come back around 2pm Sunday!
