The BBQ thermometer clocked the water at 18°C 🌡️ which feels suspiciously like 16°C with confidence, but we’ll allow it 🤔
A bit damp in the air, a bit drizzly on the skin 💦 and yet our corner was PACKED. Rain? Never heard of her ✨
Snoopy’s Surf Safari was HOWLING this morning 🐺

Rustys Pitch Report
A damp blanket, sea mist fills the air, and a light drizzle at 540am. Pristine water with a slight cross shore breeze. Waves low. Viz high. Lisha, Snoopy and I spot a fin, or is it a spiky seaweed out off the stairs. We settle for a spinner dolphin seeking some waves to jump. Glass half full.
Brett takes us out for sprints north, I scramble one quick wave. Scales up from 50m. Working hard. But remember when we danced all night. The surf life savers cut through off the cranes, finely tuned athletes. Never felt so safe. Never found the dolphin. We pause for some waves, found the gang huddling together off a nice sandbank. It was yesterday, we were young again.
Back to a roaring FFF. A shortened run up with less sand, and some set waves. A little lighter on numbers but not on joy. There’s magic in the water, champagne bubbles of foam to toast the rising sun. Ashes today, come on Aussies, time to smash those Poms. Enjoy your days!
