You realise how special something is when it is taken away… even for a little while. Poor Sterling is missing the swim! Here is his sympathy seeking shot from the hospital bed (don’t worry he is getting better).
And here is how he is feeling…
Get well mate… we all love you… and your slightly obsessive swimming!
Well after last weeks controversial blog (which the other bloggers were in awe of with over 30 comments – take that suckers!) it is back to the banal this week. But thanks for all the messages of support…
Beautiful down at the swim with some lovely waves on the point (watch out for a surfboard in the head on the way out). Anne tells me 17.8 degree water and about 93 swimmers. Well done everyone!
Just a lovely swim back across the bay this morning with some nice bumps.
Everyone took off after the Let’s Go. I love that flurry of excitement.
Soon it was a race between the Giovanelli boys, but with Sophie not far behind!
Up until the point it was all even, but a little surge took me ahead.
So another great swim in our favourite bay!
I don’t know what this was about…
And finally the award for ‘longest coffee, do these people have jobs…’ goes to Matt Hayes! I imagine he will still be there at midday… love this group!
NOTICES…
Next B&B monthly dinner
Bluewater Restaurant – Tuesday 8th September at 6.30 pm
Our guest speaker will be Guy Dunstan, who held CEO and senior management positions with major media and investment banking corporations in twenty countries throughout the world. That was before he experienced a severe episode of mental ill-health (severe melancholic depression + bi-polar disorder) and was forced to leave the workforce. From that moment, his life spiraled out of control in a seemingly never-ending downward vortex that ultimately resulted in him losing his career, reputation, wealth, marriage, family and friends. He was left broke, homeless and socially shunned. With seemingly no other options available, Guy eventually re-entered the workforce as a manual labourer working the night shift at the Sydney Fruit Markets. After 2 years in that role he now regards this period as the toughest, yet most challenging, meaningful, and rewarding of his career.
Guy is uniquely placed to offer insights into the complex and largely misunderstood subject of mental health: its prevalence and impact in the workplace. Guy will deliver an insiders view of what it is really like to experience mental ill-health in the workplace, and, in particular how this experience can potentially impact the lives of individuals concerned, the groups they work in, and the organisation as a whole.
Guy is currently Senior Advisor to The Black Dogs Institute, Australia’s leading research institute in the area of Mental Health and Mood Disorders.

Our man who came out of the water,
Tim be his name,
The surf is up,
Your blog is done,
In Ocean, as it was in heavy seas.
Give us this day your Thursday Blog,
and please forgive his last blog,
as we also have forgiven his critic’s.
And lead us not into Jimbles,
but deliver us from Bluey’s.
For the Ocean, & the power of the waves,
and the glory getting 1st yours now but not tomorrow !
Love you all
